How I Work

Evidence-based. Trauma-informed. Biblically integrated — when it's right for you.

Every client comes with a different story, different culture, different relationship to faith. My approach adapts to yours.

Evidence-based care

I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, attachment theory, and EMDR-informed approaches — frameworks with strong clinical support for anxiety, depression, and trauma in the perinatal period.

Biblical integration

For clients whose faith is a meaningful part of their lives, I offer the option to weave Biblical Christian values into our work. Always offered, never assumed — your framework, your choice.

Trauma-informed practice

Whether the trauma is a birth experience, a loss, or something earlier that motherhood has surfaced — I work at a pace that feels grounded and safe.

What makes a Christian therapist?

Christian counseling is rooted in Biblical truth while integrating evidence-based therapeutic practices, allowing Scripture to shape the way we pursue healing, growth, and lasting change. My goal is to equip and encourage you so therapy is purposeful and transformative.

"My birth is over... but I can't stop replaying it."

Traumatic Events

Birth trauma, pregnancy loss, medical experiences, and other painful events can leave lasting emotional wounds. Therapy offers a safe place to process your story, reclaim your sense of safety, and begin healing with compassion.

"My relationship feels like a stranger's."

Relationship strain

Parenthood strains even strong partnerships. Therapy can help you find language for what's changed — and what you still want.

"My family expects one version of me and I'm trying to be another."

Cultural & spiritual tension

As a 1st-generation Filipino American therapist, I understand navigating cultural expectations alongside modern motherhood. This complexity is welcome here.

"The joy I expected never came."

Postpartum depression

Depression doesn't always look like sadness. Numbness, irritability, and disconnection count too.

"I feel anxious all the time and I can't explain why."

Perinatal anxiety

Anxiety during and after pregnancy is extremely common and highly treatable. You don't have to white-knuckle through it.

"Everyone tells me to pray more, but I need more than that."

Lack of Support

Prayer is powerful, and sometimes God also provides healing through wise support. Therapy can be a place where faith and evidence-based care work hand in hand.

Perinatal mental health encompasses far more than postpartum depression — though I treat that too.
